Special Olympics Provincial Competition - Bronze Medal Winner!
Update: The Western team won the Bronze Medal today, Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Special Olympics Youth Games in the Unified Basketball League.
We are excited to announce that for the first time, Western University will be represented at the Special Olympics provincial competition. We have 5 Special Olympic athletes and 6 unified athletes (Western students). This is also the first year for the Special Olympics Invitational Games.
We are participating as a team in the Unified Basketball league. Western hosted a tournament in November 2018 and the winners were contacted to represent Western. For more information, visit https://youthgames2019.com/
The Special Olympics Youth Games opening ceremony will be broadcasted on TSN2. It will be shown Tuesday May 14 from 7:30-10pm.
Look for the Western Mustang athletes and coaches as they represent us in PURPLE!
